Addington Coffee Co
Addington Coffee Co-op is part of a larger organisation called Liminal, formed around strong values of fair and ethical ways of doing business.
They exist solely for others, as they strive to create a place of belonging for their customers, employees and their producers in the far reaches of the globe. They have committed to redistributing 70% of the profits that their enterprises generate back to the local community and to some of the producers and communities overseas that create the products they sell. The other 30% is reinvested into the business. Their shareholders don’t take a cent in dividends.

Crave Café

Crave Café
Crave Café is owned by a collective, a neighbourhood ‘whanaungatanga’ if you will. Some years ago, a few of their crew got together and decided they wanted to make Morningside a better place to live.
They asked the locals what the neighbourhood needed most and addressing social poverty was top of the list. So they chipped in and started Crave Cafe where all of their profit goes towards the community.

The Fair Trader
Bron and John Newnham are the founders of The Fair Trader. Both of them were born in economically poor countries. John was born in rural India, and Bronwyn was born in South Korea just after the devastating Korean Civil War.
Having experienced poverty firsthand, they understand the complexities of solving the issue. Not one to be shackled by apathy however, Bron states, "Changing the world through ethical purchasing is such a simple and positive action. We really do have the power to change someone’s world."
The Fair Trader's goal is to give the Melbourne, Australian and New Zealand community an opportunity to purchase beautiful artisan products which give the gift of regular and sustained employment for the producers, a wage which enables them to survive and thrive, and is an investment into the producer's local community.
